The talkative Indian team

If you face defeat by your opponent than you make sure to give your best the next time you face him/her. Right? But guess what. Our dear Indian cricketers have decided to just talk to the media rather than prove it on field.

The inning defeat against Sri Lanka on their home ground is going to be another learning experience for the Indian team.

I still clearly remember the captain of our team, Anil Kumble (who is also the most senior player) saying that, “We are well prepared for the series. It’s them who will be under pressure, not we.”

Now, the point that I’m trying to make is simple. I have continuously kept an eye on the match. And believe me it was Indian players who were under pressure.

I can say it with confidence because i saw the senior players playing on the field. They were the ones who were playing under pressure.

What’s the point in stating such high statements when they know their calibre? If they feel that by saying this to the media their fans will believe them, then they are wrong.

Cricket is the only sport which is not taken as a sport but is worshipped as God. In fact it’s now a part of our religion. So the cricket lovers very well know that how the team will perform. So they making such statements are of no use.

“Mendis will be under pressure when we come on filed,” was another statement that Anil Kumble made. When he was asked how was the team gearing up and what strategy they would use against him.

This bowler was the one who took maximum wickets and restricted India to such a low target. In fact, India was unable to hit fours or sixes in his overs. The senior and the most experience players failed which was a shock for me.

Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly played only in the 1st innings. What went wrong in the second then? Well I guess even they don’t have an answer to this.

If you want have an answer, then please for God sake don’t make any promises to your fans. Because trust me they have huge expectations and when the team fails, they too loose their faith.

It’s high time you guys talk less and perform more. The media has eyes and will see for them and write down your performance in words.

I don't really know a lot about cricket, but I know they are known to over do things and these days they just seem to be proving people right...

Yep. I completely agree with you. Cricketers are seen more on T.V making money, rather than doing their job. Cricket definitely is a religion in India, but the cricketers are certainly not worth worshipping....
